About the Author:
Amanda E. Howard is the author of A Dancer's Diary. In addition to being an author, she is also a dancer, Personal Fitness Trainer & Health Specialist, choreographer, and dance teacher.
Dance has been a part of her life since she was four years old. At 18, Amanda opened her first dance studio where she taught ballet, pointe, and tap. In the few years that she owned her studio, Amanda found that her students were constantly getting sick and injured in between classes. They were in sports outside of class and they went to school where occasionally sick kids would share their germs. This caused a few problems as they had to keep missing classes.
After much research, she discovered that in the dance world, a lot of dancers and their parents didn't really have one resource where they could find helpful ways to maintain healthy and strong immune systems and bodies throughout the year. A lot of the parents of her students didn't know how to keep their kids from getting sick and injured.
Amanda's goal was to put all of the information you might need to achieve your truest potential as a dancer as well as reach your ultimate goals, in one publication. She wanted to appeal to, not only the dancers but also their parents. All dancers should be educated on proper health and wellness maintained within an active lifestyle.
