Author Update!

So...you all know about A Dancer's Diary, but did you know that I'm working on another book?

Yes, that's right. I have been working on a novel this time. As a writer, I've always tried to keep an open mind about starting new projects. My author days started as a blogger with small blogs that were barely read by the public, to pretty decent blogger with an increasing amount of followers, to full-time author of a health and wellness book, to novel-writer.

Wow! What a crazy ride it's been so far. I'm thrilled to be dipping my toe into fiction! It's been a rough road filled with many frustrating nights pouring over notes and jotting down ideas. I'm pleased to finally announce that my hard work has paid off and my first novel, The First Gift of Christmas is in its final editing stage.

I wanted to write something that combined my love of dance with my love of sweet, Hallmark romances. It's based during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season.

Here is the synopsis:

Lydia has found her home in the small town of Maple Ridge, Massachusetts. Throughout the years, she has built up a name for herself throughout the state as being the kindest and most creative dance teacher and choreographer. Every year, she and her crew put together an elaborate Christmas Eve performance and party that celebrates all forms of art. Though she loves what she does, Lydia has dreams of working with the prestigious Boston Ballet. When she hears that the artistic director for the dance company is looking for an assistant choreographer for the Spring season, Lydia throws herself into making sure the performance is perfect, despite the fact that the artist that paints the sets has recently moved away.

A handsome artist from Boston, Jordan, comes to Maple Ridge in hopes of finding new inspiration for his work. He has struggled with deciding what his next move in life will be and hopes that this trip will help clear his head. Lydia and Jordan meet unexpectedly and are immediately drawn to each other. Not able to find a replacement for her regular set-painter, Lydia offers Jordan the job. As things progress, Jordan starts to realize that being close to family and friends is at the heart of all inspiration.

Though the performance is coming together, sabotage ensues as well as conflicting feelings create a complicated mess. Lydia pushes Jordan away, feeling as though he's a distraction as she's figuring out her career. Will she open her heart to love?
