Best Green Juices Ever! – National Green Juice Day

Writer's picture: AmandaHowardAmandaHoward

Green juice is one of the healthiest (and easiest) ways to balance pH and alkalinize your body. It is full of antioxidants and essential vitamins and minerals. However, a lot of people hate drinking green juice. I am probably one of those people who would rather eat a full salad than drink a cup of green liquid.

If you can relate, then I have some wonderful news for you. Green juice can be delicious and super easy to make! These recipes I'm about to share with you are some of my favorites. You can make these juices with either a Vitamix blender (adding fiber from the pulp and skin) or you can use a juicer like the Breville Ikon Juicer.

You can wash and cut up your ingredients ahead of time to make the process of juicing a whole lot easier. It is nice to have a green juice in the morning with breakfast to give you a great health boost for the day. I recommend drinking a green juice 2-3 times a week for 4 weeks. Take a break for a little bit after 4 weeks to avoid allergies and feel free to switch up the ingredients with fruits and vegetables that you enjoy.

Ginger Green

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups packed baby spinach leaves

  • Handful of parsley leaves and stems

  • 1 medium green apple

  • 1 large seedless (English) cucumber

  • 1-inch length piece of fresh ginger

  • 1/2 medium lemon

Directions:

  • Wash all your ingredients. Chop the apple, cucumber, lemon, and ginger into thin pieces small enough to easily go through the juicer.

  • Turn on the juicer and push everything through, alternating between the greens and the apples, cucumbers, and lemon. Enjoy right away.

Apples are a great way to add some sweetness and their skin contains vitamins A and C as well as potassium. They help break down toxins, aid in digestion, and can lower cholesterol. Parsley is full of essential antioxidants and contains vitamins A, B, C, E, and K as well as potassium, iron, and magnesium. Spinach is rich in iron, ginger contains gingerols that boost immune system and aid in digestion, cucumbers are high in vitamin A, B, and C as well as folic acid, and lemons are full of vitamin C which boosts the immune system.

Glowing Green

Ingredients:

  • 1 green apple

  • 2 celery stalks

  • 2 large kale leaves

  • 1 carrot

  • 1-inch piece of fresh turmeric, or 1 Tablespoon of dried turmeric

  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger

Directions:

  • Wash the ingredients. Cut up the ingredients into pieces that will fit in the juicer. Alternate the ingredients. Pour into glasses and serve right away.

Carrots are rich in beta-carotene which converts to vitamin A in your body. They are also great sources of fiber and help flush toxins out of the body. Turmeric is a strong antioxidant that helps reduce inflammation.

Migraine Reliever

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 pineapple

  • 3-4 leaves of kale or a bunch of spinach

  • 1 celery stalk

  • 1/4 lemon

  • 1/2-inch of fresh ginger (optional)

Directions:

  • Wash your ingredients and cut them up into manageable sizes. Juice everything and enjoy immediately.

Low levels of magnesium can cause muscle cramps, weakness, and migraines. Pineapple is high in vitamin C, fiber, potassium, and B vitamins. It is excellent for lowering inflammation and for promoting good digestion. Kale is a powerhouse! It is full of vitamins A, K, C, and B6 as well as minerals such as manganese, calcium, copper, potassium, and magnesium. Celery contains vitamin K, C, and B6 as well as folate, fiber, potassium, manganese, calcium, riboflavin, and magnesium.

I hope that you have enjoyed this post! Let me know what your favorite green juice is in the comments.

Have a wonderful day! Until next time,

Amanda
