Travel Hacks

Traveling can always pose an issue when you are trying to stick to a specific diet and/or fitness plan. This is especially true if you don't have access to a gym or you are just focusing on enjoying yourself while on vacation. I'm here to help you figure out how to maintain your motivation to eat healthily and stay fit while traveling. Don't worry, I promise I'll make this super easy.

Walk Whenever You Have the Chance

This one is easy. Take the time to use the stairs and walk. This will provide you with low-impact exercise the keep your blood flowing through your legs.

Avoid Sodas and Other Sugary Drinks

Sticking to water is not only better for staying hydrated, it's also going to help you maintain your energy levels.

Try a Quick, Body-Weight Workout in Your Hotel Room

If you don't have access to a hotel gym, don't worry about it. It's easier to do a couple of easy exercises in your room, using your own body-weight. I recommend exercises such as squats, push-ups, calf raises, bridges, hundreds, crunches, and triceps dips. Doing a quick workout in the morning will give you more energy for your day.

Take Advantage of the Hotel Swimming Pool

Swimming is the perfect choice for quick cardio. It helps strengthen muscles and joints without too much stress and regulates breathing patterns. Plus, it's really fun and a great way to cool off on a hot day.

Eat as Much Fresh Food as You Can

Add a lot of vegetables and fresh fruits to your meals as possible to keep your vitamin and mineral intake adequate and keep your digestive system happy. This will also make you feel better when you splurge later on.

Super simple, right? Trying these simple "hacks" can help you stay fit and healthy on vacation, but remember...it's your vacation. Don't stress about sticking to a strict diet or rigorous fitness routine. Enjoy your time and do what you can.

If you are planning a vacation anytime soon, I hope you have a fantastic trip!

Until next time,

Amanda
