My Morning Routine

Writer's picture: AmandaHowardAmandaHoward

I decided to step away from the informational posts that I usually put on here and share a little of my life with you. As summer wanes, I like to put together a new routine for the new, upcoming season. Each season I try to stick to some sort of routine that will help, not only my skin, but my whole body and mind. Routines are great for keeping you focused and productive throughout the day.

This fall I am going to try and put together a routine that I hope to actually stick to for the entire season. Throughout the summer I have been pretty faithful with a great routine that is helping my skin clear up and my mornings go a lot faster. Here is a look into what I have been doing and what I hope to accomplish.

7:30 AM

Alarm goes off and I wake up slowly, check emails and read some Scriptures.

8:00 AM

Head downstairs and make breakfast for the family. We've been on an adrenal fatigue diet lately so we've been eating lots of protein (eggs, chicken, turkey, etc.) and vegetables (spinach, broccoli, cabbage, etc.). This includes frittatas, turkey meatballs with a spinach salad (yes for breakfast), and sometimes some hot amaranth with a sunny-side up egg.

9:00 AM

Get dressed or shower. I use Honest Beauty Co. as my skin care (Refreshingly Clean Cleanser, Even Brighter Everyday Moisturizer, and Everything Primer) alongside Aveda Botanical Kinetics Exfoliant, which has worked wonders for my face!

I don't wear much makeup, unless I'm going somewhere. However, when I do wear makeup, I keep it simple with Arbonne Perfecting Liquid Foundation in Buff, It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Anti Aging Waterproof Concealer, Mineral Fusion Lengthening Mascara, and some Burt's Bees chapstick (either Mango or Coconut).

10:00 AM

Start working on my next project whether it's writing the next book, marketing A Dancer's Diary, or planning my next class. Sometimes, I will take the day off for a little breather to refresh my brain.

I hope to continue with this routine and possibly add a little more during the fall. Do you have a morning routine that you stick to? What is your favorite part of your routine?

Let me know if you have any suggestions on new posts, I love to hear your input!

Until next time,

Amanda
