I know that coffee is the number 1 drink that people go for in the morning for a boost. Though I don't always encourage you to rely on something like coffee for a boost, sometimes it just can't be helped. Here is a great option for those of you who would like a healthy alternative to a sweet latte. I recommend using organic coffee as it contains less chemicals that can cause addiction and headaches. Coffee Date Shake
Ingredients:
6 dates - stones removed
1/4 cup of brewed, cold coffee
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
5 cardamom pods, seeds removed (or powdered cardamom)
3-4 ice cubes
2/3 cup whole milk
Directions:
Use a mortar and pestle to crush the cardamom seeds and discard the pods.
Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend for 1-2 minutes until the dates and ice have broken down.
Serve immediately. The ingredients will settle as you drink, so I recommend that you use a straw to stir it up.
