Homemade Larabars

Writer's picture: AmandaHowardAmandaHoward

I love Larabars! They have very little ingredients, are easy to put into your dance bag, and come in different flavors. Unfortunately they can add up if purchasing them often, I also don't live in an area where they are sold. The solution? Make them yourself at home.

Here is a recipe for apple pie Larabars. This recipe is so simple and delicious that it is like you're cheating on your diet. They can be kept in the fridge for up to two weeks and are completely gluten-free which makes them a great paleo snack. Enjoy!

Apple Pie Larabars

Ingredients-

  • 1 1/2 cups walnuts

  • 1 cup dried apples

  • 1 cup Medjool dates

  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon

  • 1/8 tsp. ginger

  • 1/8 tsp. sea salt

Instructions-

In a food processor, combine all ingredients and pulse until a paste is formed. You want little chunks of apples and walnuts so make sure you don't pulse the mixture too much. If the mixture doesn't bind together, add a few more dates.

Transfer the dough to a paper lined 8x8 pan, pressing down evenly. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours and cut into bars. Eat them right away or wrap them in wax paper and save for later. Store them in the refrigerator.

I hope that you try this recipe and be sure to let me know what you think. Feel free to change up the ingredients to suit your tastebuds. These are great snacks to bring with you to dance for when you get hungry. Have a beautiful day!

Until next time,

Amanda
